Oakville Fashion Show

CASE STUDY - 2026

ROLE

Web Design - Site Management

TEAM TIME LINE

SOLO June - August 2026

OVERVIEW

The Oakville Fashion Show was an ongoing project I was brought on to manage and improve the Wix site as the event evolved. Restructuring navigation, designing a repeatable events system, and building an easier registration experience for models and designers were some of the improvements I made, alongside fixing a few small UI mistakes.

MODEL & DESIGNER DIRECTORY

The client wanted a way for models and designers to add their photo and name, so organizers could put a face to a name at a glance, and designers could browse models more easily during the hiring process. Since a separate website wasn't wanted, I built it as a password-protected section within the existing site instead. Both directories use the same repeatable card template an image that reveals the person's name and details on hover with AI generated placeholders in place for now at the client's request, until real photos are ready to swap in.

All images shown are AI generated, used at the clients request.

SUMMER SOLSTICE - Event Template

The client wanted a section to display the events they'd hosted, and requested a repeatable template that could show each show, its designers, and their selected work. I designed a reusable page template to meet that, starting with their most recent show The Summer Solstice (June 20, 2026). Now every future show slots into the same structure without building a new page from scratch

All images shown are AI generated, used at the clients request.

REFLECTION

This project was a completely different learning experience from Castr, instead of a ground up redesign, I had to work on an ongoing live site with real constraints and requests from the client. Alongside the structural work, I also fixed a number of smaller things across the site such as typos, spacing, and colours, the kind of details that are easy to overlook but add up to a more polished experience. Turning the client's requests into real work while making sure the site's identity and branding stayed consistent throughout was a lesson I learned.
